11-year-old music prodigy will perform at Burgerville | Community Spirit

What: The Oregon Music Hall of Fame and Burgerville are putting on a concert by guitarist Michael Hermes, a gifted 11-year old multi-instrumentalist and composer who plays electric and classical guitar, piano and keyboard. His music is an eclectic blend of Hans Zimmer, Jeff Beck, Segovia, Paul Gilbert and Frank Zappa. He is in 5th grade at Scouters Mountain in Happy Valley and attends Portland School of Rock. He started playing the guitar at the age of 6 and has studied under Steve Adams. He dreams of becoming a famous composer and guitar player.
When: Friday, Feb. 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Burgerville at 1122 S.E. Hawthorne Blvd.
Cost: Free - a percentage of the food and beverage sales will benefit the Oregon Music Hall of Fame scholarship fund. Burgerville and the Oregon Music Hall of Fame have sponsored this concert series at various locations since 2009, and the sponsorships have helped fund the 30 scholarships given to high school music students as they enter college programs.
