PORTLAND, Ore. - A woman in a wheelchair escaped injury after she was hit by a TriMet bus in southeast Portland Monday.

Holly Manley said she was traveling along the sidewalk in her motorized wheelchair when a bus leaving the TriMet bus lot near Southeast Holgate street slammed into her.

She hurt her arm and was scared by the incident but says she wants the driver to know she is not badly hurt. Her motorized scooter, similar to a motorized wheelchair, was damaged in the incident.

Manley claims she was crossing the bus lot exit and made eye contact with the driver.

She said she stopped in front of the bus briefly, then the driver accelerated and hit her.

The  accident comes nearly four weeks after a TriMet bus driver ran over five people in downtown Portland, killing two women and injuring three other pedestrians.

TriMet is interviewing the driver to figure out what happened.
